To My Future Child, From a Father Who's Still Learning to Grow
My child, don’t be too afraid of the things that haven’t happened yet.
Don’t let the shadows of the future paralyze your steps.
The future is full of uncertainty, I know. But here’s something I believe—you can begin shaping it today.
Grow steadily, little by little, and don’t stop.
Your father isn’t a perfect man. But I’m trying my best to become someone you can be proud of.
And when the time comes and you enter this world, I want you to become better than me—stronger, wiser, and kinder.
I love you, even before I’ve met you.
One day, I will build a little family that is strong enough to weather any storm.
A home that may not be perfect, but is full of warmth and protection.
And in that home, I will stand as a father—not to rule, but to lead with love.
Don’t Be Afraid to Be Wrong, and Never Be Ashamed to Ask
There will be many things you don’t know yet. And that’s okay.
You don’t have to understand everything right away.
Don’t be afraid to ask, even if it’s about something small—something others already know.
Asking questions doesn’t make you weak or stupid.
In fact, it means you’re growing.
Trust me, my child: wisdom comes not from knowing everything, but from never being too proud to ask.
As you grow up, I hope you stay humble.
Help others when you can—but don’t lose yourself in the process.
Chase your dreams. Set your goals.
There will be days when doubts rise like waves, and you’ll feel like giving up.
But if you can keep going, even when it hurts, you’re already winning.
I believe in you. Even when your body and soul feel like they’re falling apart, keep going.
For yourself. For the future you dream of.
My Favorite Place
One day, your favorite place might be your father’s lap. Or your mother’s.
Maybe it’ll be the toy store or the corner of your bedroom.
And as you grow older, your favorite places may change.
But mine never will.
My favorite place, from the moment you’re born until the day I’m gone, will always be beside you.
That’s where my heart rests.
And now, at 21 years old, I make this promise to you:
I will do everything I can to give you a good life.
Even if I fall again and again, I will never give up.
I will rise, every time, for you. For your mother. For us.
You may not be here yet, but I’m already building the road that leads to you.
One step, one struggle, one prayer at a time.
